This Privacy Policy explains how Quote Monster (operated by Chase Custom Designs) collects, uses, and protects personal data. We are the "data controller" of personal data held in your account; you are the "data controller" for any customer data you collect via the booking widget and we act as your "data processor" for that data.
1. What we collect
- Account data: name, business name, email, phone number, billing address, payment details (held by Stripe — we never see card numbers).
- Usage data: page views, feature usage, IP address, device/browser information, referrer.
- Customer data (held on your behalf): names, addresses, contact details and quote history of your end customers, captured through the booking widget you embed on your site.
2. Lawful basis
We process account data on the lawful basis of contract (we need it to provide the service) and legitimate interest (running and improving the platform). End-customer data is processed on your behalf under your own lawful basis.
3. Sharing
We share data with the following sub-processors strictly to deliver the service:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Supabase — database hosting (EU region)
- SendGrid / Postmark — transactional email delivery
- Cloudflare — CDN and DDoS protection
We do not sell personal data to anyone. Ever.
4. Retention
We retain account data for the lifetime of your subscription plus 12 months. Customer data is retained for as long as your account is active and is permanently deleted within 30 days of cancellation (subject to legal retention requirements such as accounting records).
5. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, and port your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@quotemonster.uk. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office.
6. International transfers
Personal data is hosted within the EU/UK. Any limited transfers (e.g. to US-based sub-processors for analytics) rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for adequate protection.
